Why did you choose to become involved with Friends of Rothrock?
As a Penn State graduate of 2001 and 2008, Rothrock has served as a recreational playground for over 20 years. As a student I hiked, biked, and ran my way through the forest. Nowadays, you'll find me riding my endurance horse on Musser Gap, hiking with my children or if luck has it, running through the trails enjoying some adventure.
After attending one of the planning sessions for the Rothrock Trail Plan, I realized that without a friends group to steward the effort, the plan would struggle. I contacted my friend and chair of Weiser State Forest to find out how to start our very own friends group here in Rothrock.
How do you support FOR?
As Co-Chair for board development and membership, I focus on growing the maturity of our board, supporting the strategic planning and giving our members all the opportunities we can to be a part of this wonderful initiative!
What other things would FOR Members be interested in knowing about you?
I support the area’s running and biking races through PSOC Ski Patrol as volunteer medical support. I also ride horses in American Endurance Race Conference events in the PA, VA, and NY areas for distances of 25-50 miles.
