Volunteer Opportunity - Musser Gap Trail Work
UPDATE 8/10/21: Pause on volunteer trail work
Friends of Rothrock and DCNR need your help to finish a new trail that is being built at Musser Gap. This short trail is being built by machine but volunteers are needed to finish grooming the newly built trail including cutting back roots, leveling trail tread, and pulling back duff (leaves, etc.).
DCNR employees will provide instruction and guidance. Tools will be provided however, we recommend bringing your own drinks, food, bug spray, and gloves.
We can utilize up to three volunteers at a time so please register below, indicating availability, for scheduling and insurance purposes. Questions may be directed to our trail committee leader, Jay Ziegler.
Trail construction is moving into a very rocky region and will be much slower next week.
When: TBA - DCNR personnel will notify us when more volunteers are needed
Where: Musser Gap trailhead
Directions: Hike up the gravel road from the Musser Gap trailhead and look for the new trail adjacent to the wooden footbridge.
